There was so much to talk about after No. 6 North Carolina held on for 77-73 victory over No. 15 Ohio State in the 2K Sports Classic semifinals Thursday night. There was the Tar Heels' big early lead that dwindled to two points in the final minute, something that can happen even to a sixth-ranked team early in the season. There was the exceptional defensive job by Marcus Ginyard on Ohio State's Evan Turner, something that has become common for a player considered one of the top stoppers in the country.

Murphy Holloway scored a career-high 26 points and Ole Miss (3-0) gritted out an 89-71 win over the Indiana Hoosiers (2-1) in the first round of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off Thursday. The Rebels had 12 blocks and eight steals in the first-round win and advance to play the winner of tonight's Kansas State-Boston University matchup. Ole Miss' 89 points were the most scored by a team in the three-year history of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, surpassing Missouri's 87 scored in a game last season  

Murphy Holloway had 26 points and nine rebounds, leading Ole Miss to an 89-71 victory over Indiana on Thursday in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off. Chris Warren scored 16 points and Eniel Polynice added 10 and seven assists for the Rebels (3-0), who shot 50 percent (35-for-70) from the field. Indiana (2-1) went ahead 20-11 with 14:14 to go in the first half. Ole Miss responded with a 14-0 run -- Trevor Gaskins scored six points -- to go ahead 25-20 about five minutes later.

The Bulls (3-0) will play at 9:30 tonight. Davidson (0-2) will play against Penn State at 7. South Florida led by as many as 12 points in the second half, but Davidson cut the lead to two with 57.8 seconds to play.

Freshman Andre Dawkins had 13 points and Jon Scheyer and Miles Plumlee added 10 apiece for the Blue Devils (2-0). They held the Chanticleers to three field goals during a 14-minute stretch of the first half, put themselves up by 25 points with a 24-11 spurt midway through the second and cruised from there to a second-round matchup with the Elon-Charlotte w  

LEXINGTON, Ky. Kentucky freshman John Wall scored 19 points - including the game-winning jumper with 0.5 seconds remaining - to lift the fourth-ranked Wildcats to a 72-70 win over Miami of Ohio on Monday night. After Miami's Kenny Hayes hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 70 with six seconds left, Wall raced down the floor and pulled up from the wing. The ball fell through the net and Wall raced up the floor pounding his chest in celebration as the crowd roared.
